The Joys of Motherhood

Yesterday was full of joys! Wonderful time spent with my sweet son and a big mess! We started off the morning saying goodbye to daddy and getting dressed in his new overalls! Then we played on his play mat and had story time!

He’s playing with his toys now!!

I had a wonderful day at home, the house was mostly clean and there was little to do so I was able to play a lot with Paxton! We left around 1:45 for a 2:15 doctor appointment (my yearly…just seemed like another OB visit!) After my check-up, we headed to a local baby store and looked around for baby slings! (I love my wrap but it’s difficult to wrap when I’m out!) He slept on my shoulder the entire time we were there (what a joy, I love holding my sleeping baby!) After stopping by Aldi to pick up a few groceries we headed home!

Once at home I changed his diaper and for some reason I took his overalls off! I was glad I did because less than 30 minutes later after he ate, he had a blowout, I mean an explosion, all over him and me too!! So I carried him to the changing table and carefully pulled my top and tank off without getting poo in my hair and then I pulled my pants off! Next, I carefully pulled his onesie over his head without smearing more poo than necessary on him and then took off the diaper! I used 3 wipes (usually takes me just one) and he still had poo on him so I carried my poopie baby (while in my under garmets) to the bathroom and grabbed his tub to bathe him! And John David arrived home to a clean naked baby and wife in her under garments! Ahh, the joys of motherhood! (I’m just so thankful it happened at home and not in town!!)

We had a wonderful evening! John David grilled barbecue pork chops and we had salad with that and then I made a fruit pizza for dessert! We enjoyed snuggling with our clean baby boy and watched a little TV!

And we put Paxton to bed in his crib again and he did fabulous! He woke  up around 8:15 this morning! We have been blessed!

Playing, snuggling, explosions, and sleeping are the joys in this season of my life!
