15 Weeks

Here I am at 15 weeks! {We actually took a picture on the right day!!}

I’m finding that the weeks are just flying by and I’m still in disbelief that I’m actually pregnant and there will be another little person in our family in less than 6 months!

My belly is visible now! It’s not too visible in the mornings but once I eat lunch and especially dinner it’s huge! I’m finding that I’m wanting to wear stretchy pants, dresses or pants that are about 2 sizes bigger than normal now because I want some room!!

I’m still feeling tired. I was hoping that would go away once I hit the second trimester! Of course I am chasing after an incredibly active toddler! I try to combat the tiredness by napping at least during one of Paxton’s nap times each day.

I keep thinking that I am feeling the baby move but nothing has been definite! I know it’s coming soon and I cannot wait to feel those little flutters!!

15 weeks with Paxton:

I really think my belly looks about the same!!

And here’s the incredibly cute, adorable and fun big brother! He was quite excited about taking a picture this week!

14 Weeks

Here’s the belly at 14 weeks 1 day!

Hello second trimester!! It’s hard to believe that I’ve already reached the second trimester! I’m just hoping that my energy level will begin to increase now that I’m at this point. My belly is definitely beginning to grow a little now!

I’m feeling good but still just very tired. I feel like I’m hungry all the time too!

I think we’ve pretty much decided that we are going to find out the gender of this baby! We’re anxious to know if baby is a little brother or sister! So in less than 6 weeks we should know! Exciting!

14 Weeks with Paxton:

Not much of a difference in these two shots, of course in both of these 14 week shots, I’m wearing bigger shirts that aren’t form fitting!

And here’s Paxton with mama! He was less than impressed about taking these pictures, we didn’t get a single smile!

Love this expression on Paxton’s face and his body language!! Too cute!

13 Weeks

Here’s baby Boreing #2 at 13 weeks 4 days! There is a little bit of a belly starting but it really just looks like I ate too many brownies!

I don’t feel like I look pregnant at all and some of my smaller jeans (like these) are starting to get a little snug {in fact they are currently unbuttoned and I’m thinking I may put on a belly band to wear these the rest of the day!} Thankfully I have a wide array of pants from size 2 to 8 in my wardrobe (due to weight fluctuations and being in the child bearing years!) so I’ve got quite a bit of growing to go before I’ll be having to turn to maternity pants {which I currently don’t even have since my sister just had a baby and we share maternity clothes!}

During the day, I cannot see or feel my uterus at all but in the morning when my bladder is full, it’s pushed out and poking up! It’s wild!! I love waking up in the morning and feeling my belly! I lay in bed, rub my belly and try to resist the urge to go to the bathroom as long as I can because once I go, it’s gone, at least for now!! I know the belly will be here to stay before long so I better just enjoy being able to bend over the bathtub to give Paxton a bath and washing dishes without leaning akwardly!

I am looking forward to feeling this sweet little one moving around and even more excited about the moment when John David and Paxton can feel the baby!!

13 weeks with Paxton:

Not a big difference in these two shots but I do think my belly is more visible here.

Here’s big brother! He looks smaller in this week’s picture than last week’s! I think that is partially due to the fact that this was taken early in the day instead of late afternoon when he was full of energy!

Paxton is growing up so much and becoming such a little boy and a helper! He’s listening to us much better and he even will go and get some items for us when we ask! I’m thinking that in 6 months when baby brother or sister arrives that he’ll be a little helper for mama and daddy!0

12 Weeks

In typical me fashion, I’m late! We were a day late taking our 12 week picture and 4 days late posting about 12 weeks! Better late than never, right?

And surprise! I cut my hair off!! I cut off about 13 inches that I’m donating to locks of love! I’m loving my new hair cut especially during the summertime!

Here is the belly at 12 weeks 1 day! There really isn’t anything to see and this larger shirt would hide a bump if it did exist! I started this pregnancy weighing about 20 pounds less than I started Paxton’s pregnancy and about 7 pounds lighter than I was at my lowest point while I was so sick with morning sickness with him so I am definitely smaller this go round. (And I’m hoping that means I stay smaller and don’t weigh more than my hubby at the end of the pregnancy…it was just 1 pound, but still!)

Here’s a shot of me pregnant with Paxton:

I am exactly 12 weeks 1 day here too! You can see that there was a little bump starting to form here! (I’m quite excited about comparing my growth this time with the pictures from last time!) (I also think I look much younger…not that I look old now! I think it’s the hair…)

I’m beginning to feel almost normal. My appetite is just about completely back, I’ve meal planned and thinking about meal planning and cooking doesn’t make me feel nauseous!! Yay! I am still extremely tired and finding I can’t stay up past 10:30 or so and need a nap or a time of rest during the day. I feel bad that I’m not able to be as active as I would like with Paxton but I’m hoping once I hit the 2nd trimester I’ll get some energy back.

I lie in bed almost every night and every morning hoping I can feel the baby! Nothing yet but I’m expecting to feel some motion sometime in the next few weeks since it is my second pregnancy!! I cannot wait to begin feeling those little flutters!

With this pregnancy I want to document my growing belly and baby as well as the growing big brother! I know 7 months is going to make a world of difference in this little guy so we’re going to snap a picture together each week too!! (I’m sure it will begin getting tricky holding a heavier and heavier toddler over a bigger and bigger belly but we’ll manage!)

And just because he’s so stinkin’ cute and expressive, here’s another one!!

Seriously, I’m thrilled about this new little baby and can’t wait to have another sweet newborn to love on (and just thinking about that makes me feel like my heart might just explode!) But, with all that being said, I’m so excited that Paxton is going to have a sibling!! I can just picture the two of them interacting this time next year (the new little one will be almost 6 months then and should be quite active and interactive!!)

Our Big News

Paxton is going to be a big brother!!!

After a week of extreme tiredness and a bit of nausea in late April/early May, I thought it was possible that I was pregnant. I took my first test on May 4 and we had a ‘faint’ positive! John David wasn’t fully convinced and I wasn’t either!  We decided to take another test to make sure! We did again on May 7 and had another positive. I celebrated my second Mother’s Day as a mama to 2 (although the only people who knew were John David and me and we were in disbelief!!)

I had my first midwife appointment on June 15th but the only thing we learned at that visit was that I had a tilted uterus (which explained my horrible back pain!) The tilted uterus should correct itself and I’m finding my back pain beginning to go away. Since I haven’t had a cycle since before Paxton, there was no way of knowing how many weeks I was, they were guessing about 4 weeks so they didn’t do an ultrasound at that visit. {And thus we didn’t have a due date and didn’t want to tell anybody!}

I had about 6 weeks of nausea and food aversions but have not been sick like I was with Paxton. With him, I was sick from week 6 to 12! I think part of my feeling better this time has to do with the fact that I have a toddler to take care of, I have to feed him and change stinky diapers and I don’t just stay on the couch all day like I did with him. There is one striking similarity between these two pregnancies so far, with Paxton the only food I could eat consistently without getting sick was pizza and with this pregnancy, pizza was just about the only thing that sounded appetizing to me for a few weeks.

We had another midwife appointment and ultrasound last Thursday and our new baby looks healthy! I hadn’t gained a pound since the last visit but the midwife wasn’t concerned because the baby looks completely healthy. I was a bit concerned since I am still nursing Paxton. She said I can continue nursing for the next few months, we’re already slowly weaning, he is down to only morning and evening and I plan for him to be completely weaned within the next 2 months.

We were surprised to see how much of a baby he/she looks like, we weren’t quite 8 weeks when we had our first ultrasound with Paxton and he looked like a little bean! At the time of the ultrasound we were 11 weeks 5 days! I was expecting to be about 10 weeks so being nearly 12 was a bit of a shock to me!

Paxton’s little brother or little sister is due December 31st! {I’m kind of hoping I’ll be at least a day overdue so we can have our babies in even years! Of course everyone keeps reminding us that before the 31st means a tax deduction! :) }

Now, the big decision ahead of us is whether or not we want to find out the gender! Since Paxton was born, I said I want to wait until the birth to find out with our next one but now that we have one on the way I’m starting to think I want to know! {If it is a boy I can begin shopping thrift and consignment stores, clearances and yard sales for some inexpensive matching or coordinating outfits and if it is a girl I can begin looking for sweet girly things!!}  John David wants to know! We will have the next ultrasound around week 18 or 20 which means we have only 6-8 weeks to decide if we want to find out!

We’re so thrilled that Paxton is going to have a close in age sibling! He’ll be 20.5 months when our new baby comes so they’ll be close and hopefully the best of friends and playmates!
