23 Weeks

{Why yes, we skipped 22 weeks! We never took a picture and I just forgot…I suppose that can be blamed on pregnancy brain! In fact I spent last week wondering how far along I am! It’s hard keeping track these days!}

This past Saturday was 23 weeks. It’s so hard to believe that I’m over half way already, this pregnancy is just flying by! Most days I can’t quite believe we’re welcoming another baby but the excitement is really starting to build! I see newborns and think we’re going to have one of those in a few short months, that is exciting!

I’m feeling great, my belly is just growing and Weston’s kicks just keep getting stronger and stronger! He spent all day Saturday moving around, kicking and bouncing on my bladder! He’s so much more active than Paxton was. John David is feeling him moving all the time and we’ve tried to get Paxton to feel but he won’t stay still to wait for a kick once we have his hand on my belly!

My belly is definitely growing and I’m beginning to ‘feel pregnant’ which is interesting to me since I didn’t really have any pregnancy aches and discomforts with Paxton until the last week or two! I suppose baby number two is harder on the body! Even with the slight discomforts, I’m still feeling great and when Weston is not moving all around, I sometimes forget I’m even pregnant, that is until I take a peep in the mirror!

Here I am at 23 weeks with Paxton:

My belly definitely looks much rounder here! I think I was bigger then. However, I woke up Sunday and I promise my belly had grown, so I look much more like this shot with Paxton now than I did on Saturday!

Here’s the adorable big brother! He’s getting so big and looking so much like a little boy these days! We have compared this picture at 23 weeks to the first picture we took at 12 and Paxton has grown so much, he looked like such a baby back at week 12! I know he’s just going to keep looking more and more boyish during these past few months and by the time baby brother arrives, he probably won’t look like a baby at all!

We talk to Paxton about his brother often. We mention Weston and tell him that his brother is in Mama’s belly! When we ask him where baby is, he’ll point to his belly so he’s starting to understand! He’s also doing a fabulous job ‘loving’ his baby doll. He’ll hug and kiss him, so sweet!

21 Weeks

This past Saturday marked 21 weeks! Unfortunately, 21 weeks started off on a rough foot with a severe backache and some cramping. I believe the cramping was a result of the backache and the backache was due to having a toddler sleeping with us the night before (he takes up more of the bed than John David and I do since he has a habit of sleeping long ways with his feet on John David and his head on me!)

It took me awhile to get going that morning but I finally started feeling better, just took it easy throughout the day!

Baby Weston is quite the mover! He likes music and now becomes quite active when I’m ready to go to bed…just like big brother did! I am loving all of these kicks and movements though.

21 weeks with Paxton:

I think I look about 100% better in this picture! I’ll blame this week’s back picture on my backache! The belly seems about the same!

With big brother! He had just gotten out of the bath, that’s why he has ‘crazy’ hair!
I love this sweet little smile!!

20 weeks

I’ve somehow already reached the halfway mark! I really can’t believe how fast these weeks are flying by, they seem to be passing faster and faster!

We found out last Thursday that we’re expecting a healthy baby boy!! We’re so thankful that everything is looking wonderful with our son and that Paxton is going to have a brother!

We’re naming him Weston! {We don’t have a middle name yet, if it’s anything like with Paxton, we won’t agree and decide until the day he’s born!}

I’m feeling great these days, pretty much normal! My energy level is back these days and I forget I’m pregnant sometimes! Of course looking in a mirror and feeling kicks reminds me!

Here I am at 20 weeks with Paxton:

I actually think I look bigger here! Of course my belly fluctuates now…sometimes it looks huge and sometimes it’s not so big so this picture could have been taken when I was looking huge!

Here I am with big brother!! We had fun taking these pictures!

Paxton kept kissing me! Unfortunately his kisses are quick so John David was unable to capture it, but he got this adorable shot of Paxton’s “kiss lips”!

And some outtakes:

Paxton was hanging out in the floor while mama had her picture taken!

Looking a big surprised!
And then he was thrilled when it was time for mama to pick him up and take a picture with him!

19 Weeks

Well, now that I’m 19 weeks and 6 days, I finally took my 19 week picture! It’s been a crazy busy week filled with late nights for John David, transcribing for me and a cranky teething toddler! Taking a picture of my belly has been at the back of my mind but I had to take a 19 week picture today since I’ll be 20 weeks tomorrow!

My belly is steadily growing and I’m feeling like I look pregnant! In fact, those pants I’m wearing are maternity capris! I prefer wearing dresses or elastic waist pants while at home so I wore these today for comfort.

Our sweet little one is moving everywhere! I love feeling those little kicks and flutters.

Here I am at 19 weeks 1 day with Paxton:

I think my belly looks more round now! And this picture just gave me a self esteem boost since those are maternity jeans also! So, breaking out the maternity clothes right at the halfway point is okay!

And here’s the handsome big brother! It was 8:30 in the morning and we had nowhere to go but Paxton is wearing his shoes! Actually, they’re called ‘do-es’ by him…so cute! He loves wearing his ‘do-es’!

18 Weeks

I believe the baby belly is officially here to stay! I’m definitely looking pregnant and have been getting some belly comments!

Getting dressed is becoming more and more of a challenge! My wardrobe is narrowing quickly! I believe I have 3 pair of capris and a skirt that fit comfortably right now. My jeans are out of the question because it’s too hot! I love my 2 jersey dresses, they are so comfortable!!

I’m still feeling the baby moving throughout the day! It’s mostly just sweet little flutters that simply remind me I’m pregnant but occasionally I’ll get a pretty big kick! I’m so interested to see how different this baby’s personality is even in the womb, Paxton was so gentle with his movements, he never once kicked me in the ribs or caused discomfort! I’m hoping we have another gentle baby but I have a feeling this one is going to be a bit more active judging by what I’m already feeling at 18 weeks! {I didn’t feel Paxton at all until 19 weeks!}

In less than 2 weeks we’ll have our second ultrasound and hopefully find out whether there will be a little brother or little sister joining the family! I’m not feeling impatient at all, I am excited but these weeks are just flying by so quickly that there is no need for impatience!

With each passing week I start feeling a bit of pressure to get things done! There is nothing major to do but I’m working on a simple housekeeping routine that will hopefully make the adjustment to life with 2 a little easier. We need to clean out our office/guest room pretty thoroughly and we just keep putting that off so that’s weighing on me a little bit! I also need to start thinking more about the nursery! We know we’ll be putting both babies in the same room so we need to figure out the best furniture layout, organize drawers to prepare for holding clothing for 2 and maybe build a shelf in the closet for a little more storage space.

18 weeks with Paxton:

I think my belly looks about the same in these two shots!

Here’s the handsome big brother! He’s looking so much like a little boy these days {especially when he wears shorts and a t-shirt instead of a little romper!}

With each passing week I’m getting more confident about having 2 since Paxton is maturing so much! He’s a little sponge these days, learning so much and listening pretty well to what we tell him!
And here’s a more detailed shot of the belly! {Ignore the silly expression on my face!} These pictures were taken around 8:30 in the morning so I can’t use the excuse of a a big dinner!!
