We had a lovely and relaxing Labor Day! Aunt Jill was here visiting and we slept in (it’s rare that we sleep past 9 anymore!)
After I got up and fed Paxton I decided to celebrate Labor Day by watching Paxton’s labor and delivery videos as well as the videos of him meeting our parents. It is absolutely amazing how much a baby can change in 4.5 months! Every time newborn Paxton would make a sweet little noise I would tear up! I watched these while holding my sweet sleeping babe in my arms, I cannot imagine the emotions I will experience when I watch these and he is 10 or 20 and no longer my baby!
Around lunch time we headed over to the Claro’s to spend some time with them!
While we ate lunch, Paxton hung out in the high chair with his toys!!
He looks so big!
John David took a picture of me…he took a few horrible ones before getting a good one!
After lunch we went swimming! The water was chilly but it was nice!
Paxton enjoyed swimming with Aunt Jill. He’s so serious when it comes to the “big bath”! He rarely smiles while in the swimming pool, I think it’s because he’s prepared to fight if somebody comes towards him with a washcloth ready to wash his neck!
Even though he was swimming, he still took time to chew on his hands!
And he enjoyed relaxing in the baby float! (Jill and I are on both sides of him…we did not let him float all alone!)
Once Paxton and I got out of the pool, (he was hungry and my fair skin would burn if I was in the sun more than 20 minute!) there was a competitive game of pool baseball!
After everybody finished swimming we came inside and just hung out the rest of the evening! It is wonderful to have good friends and enjoy an evening on sitting on the couch and talking!
Yesterday was a very long (but fun) day for us! We love Mondays since it’s daddy’s day off! We didn’t get out of bed until 10! (Of course there was a feeding around 7 and then he slept until 10!)
Once we got out of bed we decided that we were going to go to Murfreesboro to meet John David’s dad (Grandpa!) He was there for a meeting and of course wanted to see Paxton!
Yesterday was also an important baby milestone, Paxton wore his first 0-3 months clothes! They are still a little big but I’m excited that he can wear them since he was wearing the same newborn clothes over and over! The even bigger milestone than fitting into 0-3 months clothes: wearing his first pair of blue jeans!
Here’s our little man in his jeans! They are big in the waist and a little too long but rolling up the legs does wonders! And of course since we were going to visit Grandpa, he wore his “Grandpa’s Sidekick” onesie!
We finally left our house around 3:00 and headed to Murfreesboro. We were surprised that we saw very little flooding during the drive, there was some water on 840 but it was so hard to imagine that just a few miles up the Interstate (both 65 and 24 that there was devastating flooding!)
Once in Murfreesboro we went to several stores and returned baby items! (What child really needs 20 3-6 month onesies!) We exchanged a few items for diapers and returned a few items for store credit (so we can later purchase 12 month and larger clothing!)
We met Grandpa at Demos’ for dinner, which was delicious! I had a steak, baked potato, sautéed mushrooms, salad and 3 rolls (I should be ashamed but they were delicious!) And the sad thing is I could have eaten more (breastfeeding a growing baby boy keeps me hungry!)
After our dinner we went to Grandpa’s hotel room and I fed Paxton and then Grandpa held him and talked to him for about an hour and he was awake the entire time!!
Paxton hanging with Grandpa! (This picture is from our zi8…I’m quite pleased with the quality, not as good as the Nikon but considering it’s a compact video camera/camera it’s not bad at all!)
After saying goodbye to Grandpa we went to visit our friends Adam and Katie and let them meet Paxton! They both enjoyed holding him and were amazed at his head full of hair! We left there around 10:00 and headed home! We finally arrived home around 11:30 and I fed Paxton and we went to bed…it was a long but fun day!
We spent our Memorial Day at Henry Horton State Park with Adam & Katie and Kara & Colby! We met there and grilled hamburgers for lunch and then made yummy s’mores!!
John David grilling!
He won’t stop grilling to take a picture!
Yummy…so yummy it is on my face!
Kara liked the s’mores!
Actually Kara really liked the s’mores…she got chocolate all over her fingers!!

After our yummy lunch we went to the pool that was there! We really enjoyed that…the closest thing to the beach in Tennessee!
John David enjoying the sun!
Since we are living in Middle Tennessee the best drink for a hot summer day!!
Another cute thing I have to mention, Kara gave us a gift! She saw these cute little boots at a yard sale and just had to buy them for the future little Boreings that will be born! Kara bought our little one (who is not on the way anytime soon!) his or her first pair of boots so they can be just like Daddy!
