Our Family on Memorial Day

A Happy Day

Yesterday was Happy 24th Birthday to John David (now known as Daddy), Happy Memorial Day (notice all the red, white and blue) and a happy day because we were surrounded by family and friends who are like family!

We had a lesiurely morning followed by a late lunch with two of John David’s dear friends from high school, Casey and Danielle. After our lunch, we ran to a few stores and then met John David’s family at Five Guys for his birthday dinner! The burgers were good but the fries at Five Guys were amazing and huge! All 5 of us split 2 regular fries and we couldn’t eat all of them!

Then we came home and had a dessert gathering with family and friends!

3 generations on the farm!

Grandmother feeding Paxton for the first time!

Paxton getting some love from his Aunt Jill!

4 generations!

Love this picture of Paxton and Papaw with the hay in the background!

Mamaw down in the floor playing with Paxton!

Papaw and Mamaw

He was blowing bubbles for his grandparents! It seems like we have a very talented bubble blower!

I Wanna Be a Farmer

With his first trip to East Tennessee, Paxton has gotten a taste of country living and he’s just begging daddy and mama to let him grow up on a farm! (We’d love that!) Right away he was introduced to tractors!!

Sitting in the Case with Grandpa!

Attempting to drive for the first time at 6 weeks!!

He’s really trying…he’s thinking give me about 4 years and I’ll be driving!!

Notice his sweet little overalls and bare feet? So cute!!

And like every trip to the “country,” mama and daddy try to make “plans” on how to get back to farm living…our ultimate dream is to live on a farm however with daddy’s job that’s not exactly easy! We’d sure love for Paxton to grow up on a farm and have a love for agriculture!

(This Case is the same tractor daddy asked mama to court him in and the tractor we left our wedding in! We did meet in the FFA…what do you expect?)

Just Like Daddy

When John David and I met, 5 years ago through the FFA, he was a state FFA officer and he had his own sense of style!

His “trademark” style was wearing his boots tucked into his pants! The look began out of laziness; when getting ready for school in the mornings, he would just throw his boots on and go! Then he began adding in colorful boot tops…like lime green, orange, purple and red! And of course the boots had to coordinate with the western top!

I managed to find this picture on my computer from 2007. We were walking in the pasture behind his parents house and for some reason I snapped a picture of his orange boots!

I shared that little story, to share this:

He’s just like daddy! His pants are tucked into his boots too!!

Our handsome little man!

Oh so precious baby bottom!

He loves to turn on his side and nap! He crossed his little feet…just precious!

This evening our friend Kim (who we actually know through FFA too) came to visit and bring us dinner!

Kim enjoying Paxton snuggles (before he decided to get fussy!)

She gave him this piggy bank! It is so perfect…we love the FFA jacket, the red tractor (mommy & daddy left their wedding on a Case) and the fact that he can save his money in it!! It’s sitting on his dresser in the nursery just waiting for money!!
