The Beginning of June

Some pictures from this month:

Paxton eating breakfast in mama’s bed. He looks so cozy under the covers!

One happy baby! He’s enjoying the mess his brother created!

Brotherly love!

Paxton loves coloring and he loves being outside so it’s hard to beat coloring outside!

Love this grumpy face!

Paxton tells me what to write or draw. He loves having me write names!

Our Weston man is quite the little drooler. One evening we got him out of the high chair {we sit him in his high chair while we eat since eating is social!} and there literally was a puddle in the bottom. It was all drool…ick! He got a quick sink bath!

The beginning of June was unseasonably cool. We had cool days and rainy days. I just had to take a picture of John David when he came home on June 10th in Georgia wearing a fleece jacket! Who would have thought?!?

May 27th

We celebrated 6 years of marriage on May 27th! We took pictures but not a single one of us together…

Our afternoon was full of celebration of our marriage with our children. We played outside, read books and went out for dinner at our favorite local pizza place!

May Miscellaney

I’m finally sitting down to wrap up the month of May here! This post is picture heavy {which is why most of our family visits the site anyways!}

Weston is such a happy baby! He doesn’t like to be left alone at all but as long as he’s being held or somebody is really close to him, he’s happy!

He’s still drooling all the time. I suppose he’s teething {which is what everybody says to the smallest amount of drool…} but my babies start drooling like crazy around 3 months old. {Paxton cut his first tooth around 7 months old.}

In addition to all the drooling, he’s a big bubble blower.

LOVE the baby feet.

With my sweet baby.

Beyond precious! This was the last night he wore this sweet gown so I had to snap pictures. This was one of Paxton’s hand-me-downs and one of the few items that has been tucked away for a possible future baby brother {no baby baking here nor plans for number 3 just yet for those of you who are curious…}

Paxton’s been into watching Arthur on his PBS kids app so we checked out 8 Arthur books from the library. One of the books was titled “Arthur’s Baby.” After seeing the baby being fed a bottle,  Paxton wanted to feed and burp our baby! I put some water in a bottle for him to feed to his brother {I chose water because the one other time I tried this with milk, Paxton stole it and decided to feed himself!!}

Sweet big brother feeding our baby!

Love this shot of my two little ones {and Weston is quickly catching up with his brother size wise!} You can see Weston’s hand on the book “Arthur’s Baby”!

Our little reader. He had a blast picking out books and we’ve been reading and reading and reading! I LOVE reading to the boys and I love having books scattered all over the house…signs of life, love and sweet children!

Getting his barn down…he’s getting to be such a big boy!

Our little farmer!

As he was walking the cow across the room, he was saying ‘moo moo!’ Precious!

He’s telling me I need to take a picture of his animals.

Here’s the picture I snapped of his animals tucked safely in the barn.

He loves feeding and watering his animals and putting them in their pens in the barn.

We celebrated 6 years of marriage on the 27th! The 27th fell on a Sunday so we didn’t make any plans. We spent the afternoon relaxing with the boys, reading and playing with them and then went out to our favorite local pizza place for dinner.

Mimi and Jill came down to visit and watch the boys while John David and I volunteered at a marriage conference on the 29th. Weston had so much fun he just feel asleep sitting up!

Sweet, sweet sleepy babe! This was the first time he did this but he often falls asleep sitting in our laps…something Paxton never, ever did! I love the differences in personalities of our boys!

John David turned 26 on the 31st. It was Thursday which kicks off our weekend services at church so he worked on his birthday and didn’t get home until well after the boys were in bed. We celebrated the next day with lunch out and more family time. {You can tell we keep things simple when it comes to birthdays and anniversaries…no gifts for us just good food!}

Five Months

Weston was 5 months old on May 22!

He’s becoming more and more of a tiny person and less of a little baby each day! He’s developing such a fun little personality!

Milestones from Four to Five Months:

  • Still sleeping through the night! {We’re so blessed with an amazing sleeper! I really believe his chunkiness has helped him sleep so well!}
  • Exclusively breastfed. He loves nursing more and more with each passing day! I love when he gazes up into my eyes while he’s nursing!
  • Still a mama’s boy but his big brother is his favorite person! Paxton can make him laugh like nobody else can!
  • Rolling over with ease this month.
  • Started pushing up and rocking a bit on his knees.
  • He’s scooting a bit! I’m loving that he’s scooting himself backwards just like Paxton did!
  • Loves sitting in his Bumbo.
  • Still in the largest bumGenius setting! I suppose he’s probably not moving down sizes ever!
  • I have no clue what size disposable diaper he’s wearing…I’m guessing size 3, maybe 4 {that’s what P wears!} He hasn’t been in a disposable diaper since he outgrew his newborn diapers back in early February!

  • Still wearing a variety of clothing sizes! Still wearing a few 3 month things. 6 and 9 months fit just right and some 12 month things aren’t too big. He usually wears 1 piece outfits but when he does wear shorts, he wears Paxton’s! {Skinny Pax is wearing mostly 12-18 month shorts!}
  • Thinning out a bit. He’s getting longer so he doesn’t look quite as chunky as he did but he still has amazing rolls…I love our chunky baby boy!
  • Really playing with toys! His current favorite toy is his bear lovie…we take it everywhere and he sleeps with it. He also enjoys playing with his Sophie and his teddy bear.
  • Loves sucking on cloth! That’s why his bear lovie is his favorite toy! He’ll suck on his aden+anais swaddles, his burp cloths, any blanket we lay him on, our sheets, anything cloth!
  • Drooling like crazy! No evidence of teeth just yet.
  • Moves his body when we’re holding him. He’ll sit up and lean forward and then lean back again.
  • Getting interested in our food. He’s reaching for our food and drinks. This makes eating a bit more difficult because I typically hold him while I’m eating.

Love sweet baby features! Precious little hands.

Brothers

Weekend

Our pool was ready to swim in this weekend…and it was nice and warm so we all enjoyed the first official swim of 2012 in the Boreing pool!

Sweet Weston was ready to swim wearing all of brothers hand me downs…and looking super cute!!

Paxton and Daddy swimming! The water was quite chilly but not too cold. Weston and I got in too. We did keep Weston above the water most of the time, only dipping his little legs in.

Somebody is so excited about swimming!

Trying to look serious…

Our little water baby! We draped a towel over a corner of the deck and let him hang out in the shade some.

I snapped these pictures Sunday before church since we had some extra time {this mama was 30 minutes early to church – woo hoo!)

Paxton loving brother…so sweet!

And I consider this picture a success these days, they’re both looking at the camera and no objects or body parts are obstructing faces! Of course Weston looks a little goofy and Paxton looks mean but I celebrate the small successes! :)
