Decorating the Christmas Tree

We decorated our tree at the beginning of December {I’m just now getting around to sharing the pictures!}

We debated whether or not we wanted to put up a tree or not this year since we’re so close to having a new baby but we decided to go ahead and put it up but keep it very simple. We only put non-breakable ornaments on the tree so there’s nothing dangerous and we won’t have to deal with cleaning up glass if our toddler just happens to knock the tree over or something {which hasn’t happened!}

We have our tree up {without presents underneath…to tempting for our little man!}, our Little People Nativity on the sewing desk and a Merry Christmas sign on the wall. That’s it, nice and simple and will take about 30 minutes or less to pack up after Christmas!

Paxton thought all the ornaments were new toys! He had a big time playing with them as we were pulling them out!

He even helped hang ornaments on the tree!

Our sweet little helper hard at work!

And of course he tried to add his flair…notice the stocking stuck in the tree? {And just last night he was holding a new ornament and a banana and we told him to put the ornament on the tree and he put his banana in it! We just laughed…and then removed the banana!!}

Silly little boy chewing on a ‘fake’ votive. He loves these since they have lights!

Putting on the star!

He did a really good job helping daddy with this!!

Admiring one of the ‘shoe’ ornaments!!

And I really was there helping…this is the best picture we got of me and P!

And just for a look back, here he is putting on the star in 2010 and then in 2011:

    I love that you have the same star photo from last year as well! What a neat tradition that will be so fun to look back on and see how much he has grown!

    And we kept the tree and decor simple this yr too- a newborn at Christmas time is enough stress!
