More Christmas

Yes, it’s now January 9th but I’m way behind in sharing pictures so we’re going back to December 26th!

We celebrated Christmas as a family of 4 on December 26th! John David made us a yummy breakfast of bacon, sausage links, biscuits, gravy and homemade hashbrowns! Everything was delicious!!

Then we let Paxton open his presents from us!

His new wooden construction vehicles!

We gave him a new chunky puzzle that he loves!

Paxton’s presents from us! Again this year, we gave him 3 gifts. We don’t know if we’ll continue the tradition or not but 3 seems like a reasonable number. Last year he received wooden blocks and 2 books {all of which he still plays with!} This year we went with a construction theme! A dump truck, a set of construction vehicles {that come apart so they’re a ‘creative’ toy} and a construction puzzle! He loves everything!

Loving on baby brother!!I love these two! I especially love Paxton’s fondness for his brother and his requests to ‘old’ him!!

We love our Weston!!

And the next day we discovered that Paxton decided his new dump truck serves dual purposes! It’s not only a toy, it also makes a great holder for his o’s!! Munching down on some o’s while playing on the iPad {or ‘paa’ as he calls it!} Love this kid!!

Christmas :: Part 2

John David and me on Christmas morning. {One of the first pictures of just us in months! And John David said it’s really just us since there’s no baby in my belly!}

With our sweet boys! It’s still so hard to believe that we’re parents to 2 children!

The boys with Mimi and Papaw

Paxton and Mimi

Love this shot!! {And Mimi made this adorable hat! Weston has one too…it’s just a little big right now!}

Our little musician! He LOVES his guitar!!

Paxton’s got the Zac Brown look going on!! 🙂

With my precious Weston!!

There is nothing like holding a newborn, especially your own newborn!

Kisses for my precious boy!!

Paxton is having snack time with Weston!!

And more playing with his guitar!

I got a new vacuum for Christmas and as John David was vacuuming the house, he let Paxton have a whirl!

The look on his face when he got to vacuum…priceless! This boy loves to help!!

Bringing the vacuum to mama!!

Checking out the lights on the front of the vacuum!!Paxton watching mama vacuum! {And seriously, this little vacuum has revolutionized our life…no more sweeping! Plus, it has a detachable hand vac which is quite handy!!}

We had a wonderful Christmas morning. We attended church which was special bringing Weston to church for the very first time on Christmas morning! And we spent the afternoon just resting and enjoying our two boys!

Christmas :: Part 1

This Christmas is definitely one we’ll never forget! We never imagined that we’d be celebrating Christmas this year with a precious baby boy in our arms! We were convinced Weston wouldn’t arrive until after Christmas, in fact at my last mid-wife appointment 6 days before he was born, we were told we’d be back in the office at our next check up and wouldn’t have a baby until after Christmas! Instead, he was born 3 days before Christmas and we were home on the 23rd!

We’re so thankful for this new addition to our family and loved celebrating the birth of two baby boys on Christmas day!

Here’s what Christmas morning looked at our home:

A little humor to start off the morning! Paxton was still lugging around his guitar and for some reason when he saw the cameras come out he stuck his finger up his nose! Too funny not to share this one!

Mimi bought the boys matching jammies, I never would have thought they’d be wearing them together on Christmas Day!

Paxton loves kissing Weston when he ‘holds’ him! Talk about heartwarming!!

Loving on brother!

Our little family on Christmas morning! One adorable toddler and a precious newborn!

Paxton was rockin’ with his new guitar! This child has moves!!

His new trike! He loved it!

Riding…he’s not quite got the hang of peddling but we’re confident he will come spring!

Trike handle bars make excellent microphones for imaginative toddlers!

Nothing like a mini-concert by a 20-month-old on Christmas morning!

More jammin’!!

Opening presents…he was getting the hang of this present opening thing!

Ooo…a new ornament!!A new book! He loves animals!!

To be continued….

Christmas with the Boreings

Decorating the Christmas Tree

We decorated our tree at the beginning of December {I’m just now getting around to sharing the pictures!}

We debated whether or not we wanted to put up a tree or not this year since we’re so close to having a new baby but we decided to go ahead and put it up but keep it very simple. We only put non-breakable ornaments on the tree so there’s nothing dangerous and we won’t have to deal with cleaning up glass if our toddler just happens to knock the tree over or something {which hasn’t happened!}

We have our tree up {without presents underneath…to tempting for our little man!}, our Little People Nativity on the sewing desk and a Merry Christmas sign on the wall. That’s it, nice and simple and will take about 30 minutes or less to pack up after Christmas!

Paxton thought all the ornaments were new toys! He had a big time playing with them as we were pulling them out!

He even helped hang ornaments on the tree!

Our sweet little helper hard at work!

And of course he tried to add his flair…notice the stocking stuck in the tree? {And just last night he was holding a new ornament and a banana and we told him to put the ornament on the tree and he put his banana in it! We just laughed…and then removed the banana!!}

Silly little boy chewing on a ‘fake’ votive. He loves these since they have lights!

Putting on the star!

He did a really good job helping daddy with this!!

Admiring one of the ‘shoe’ ornaments!!

And I really was there helping…this is the best picture we got of me and P!

And just for a look back, here he is putting on the star in 2010 and then in 2011:
